Sometimes it can be difficult to find the right Reading student accommodation and, for a number of reasons, you may want to cancel your contract. We assess all requests for cancellation on a case-by-case basis. You or someone who you have given written authority to act on your behalf must request the cancellation in writing (or via email) to our Property Team and provide sufficient documentation supporting the reasons why you can no longer live in your accommodation. We need to see proof that you have a UK-based guarantor and that your guarantor is willing to take on the contractual obligation in place of you.
We must receive all cancellation requests before your contract start date, or at the end of the Initial Cancellation Period, whichever comes first. After this time, you are liable for the full year’s rent and the tenancy agreement becomes legally binding. If you are able to find a suitable replacement to take over the contract, we can release you from your contract before your contract ends. A refundable deposit will be returned to you, less any deductions relating to the condition of the property upon your departure and any overpaid rent.
