Knowledge when publishing is as important as that to publish. Post amazing content at the wrong time and you’re missing a lot of traffic.

This is why you need a set schedule to publish your blog post. According to KissMetrics, a good day to post is Monday for traffic and Saturday for comments.

A Track Maven study showed that “leisure hours” are by far the best for engagement. This means after 6pm in most cases. One of the few exceptions would be on weekends, where data shows that Internet users log into their favorite Internet-connected devices much earlier.

  • Saturday is the best posting day for engagement and comments.
  • On Monday, after 6:00 p.m. M., This is when you should post to get the most traffic.
  • Any day of the week after 6 p.m. M. It will improve the level of interaction with your audience.
  • Take the time to create your post the day before you publish it, and schedule an automatic post for the right time.

You’ve published your post, so now what do you do?

If you just hit publish and do nothing else, you probably shouldn’t be in the blogging game at all. Here are 10 tips for after hitting the publish button.

  1. Tweet just the headline. If your headline is worth it, this should generate some interest and click.
  2. Make a video version of your post and upload it to YouTube, Vimeo, and other video sharing sites. Keep your video under 1 minute and turn it into a tempting summary that links to your full blog post.
  3. Take the highlights of your post and compile them into a PDF. Post that PDF for free on PDF sharing sites.
  4. Add an email to your autoresponder sequence, linking to your blog post.
  5. Turn your post into an infographic and share it on social media.
  6. Get social. You probably already post your new content to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other major social sites. However, there are over 100 social media sites on the web, so why not share your post with each of them.
  7. Access the question and answer sites. Quora, Yahoo Answers, and similar sites are full of people looking for solutions to problems. Find people who ask questions similar to the ones you answer in your post, and then link to your new content.
  8. Link to your previous posts. Internal links running from your previously published pages and posts to your new post are a source of free site traffic, and Google has stated that it improves your chances of free organic traffic.
  9. Join forums, chat rooms, and online communities in your niche. Please link back to your new post.
  10. Repeat. Don’t just post your post to Facebook once and consider yourself finished. Less than 10% of your followers see any post you place. This means that replay, on Facebook and other web properties, is probably necessary for your post to get the widest possible audience.
