I re-watched the movie Field of Dreams recently and some of the quotes just came to life for me and made me reflect on where I am in my own life.
All his life, Ray Kinsella (the main character of the film) was searching for his dreams. Then one day his dreams came looking for him. “For those of you who haven’t seen the movie if you are looking for inspiration on what can happen when you think this is a truly inspiring movie! I won’t say more or it will. Give the game away as a gift, but I’ve included some of the lines they made me stop and think.
About 2 years ago I was working in a secure corporate job that I had worked for about 20 years and then I got laid off. Looking back, this was the catalyst for a new life and future, but at the time it seemed like the worst thing in the world!
Do you know when you spend time dreaming what your future would be like if you weren’t tied down with a 9 to 5 job? Well, suddenly, this was my reality: I may have dreamed of not working, being independent, having no one to answer to, but that was my world and now it has changed its axis! But I am happy to say that there is life after redundancy!
For some it may be a career change, an opportunity to reflect on what you want in life, for others it may just be a chance to get a little money under your belt and move on to another job for another boss.
If you have just been fired, take the time to reflect on what it is you want out of life and your future; don’t take the first opportunity and be sure to seize the opportunity wisely in terms of both money and time. Create your own field of dreams, whatever it is.

Sometimes your future calls out to you and we are not sufficiently in tune with our thoughts or we are simply too busy to realize it. Don’t miss out on your opportunities and live the life you deserve.
