o Handicap Odds and Win Odds – These are the two most important factors in your sports betting formula. o Game Odds – This is probably my personal favorite part of sports betting. How is each team’s chance to win this week compared to the rest of the season averages? Last week’s line is usually a good guide to this area. Every game is different so be sure to read up on the team you plan to bet on prior to placing your bets. o Point Scoring System – A favorite gets added if it has the highest Pts scored over the last two weeks. Who’s the Underdog? If you’re new to sports betting odds are very important factors that will effect the final score. Most beginners are overwhelmed by the point system so read on for some tips on maximizing your profits.
Once you’ve read through the above sections you should have a better idea on how to bet on sports for beginners. Now that you have a basic understanding on how to pick which team you’re going to bet on you should try to evaluate your options by assessing the strength of each team and the chances that each team will win their next game. Evaluate the value of your picks by taking into consideration factors such as the opponent record, the game’s location, the point spreads, and the overall outlook for the game.
